Underfloor heating systems are based on a circuit of crosslinked or multilayer polyethylene pipes embedded in the mortar beneath the paving, through which water circulates at a temperature of around 40ºC, transmitting heat to the environment basically by radiation.  In underfloor heating installations it is advisable to use piping with an anti-oxygen barrier. Under certain conditions a heating installation of this kind can be used as a cooling installation.
